Unfamiliar Object places you in the role of a night-shift office inspector tasked with identifying a single item that doesn’t belong in an otherwise normal corridor. The game unfolds in a quiet, dimly lit environment where everyday office items slowly twist into unsettling forms. As you explore, you’ll use a camera tool to carefully examine and photograph the anomaly before submitting your evidence through a fax machine. Following the game’s changing rules is crucial, as incorrect reports or revisiting previously inspected rooms can lead to dangerous consequences. Blending elements of hidden-object discovery with a slowly intensifying horror atmosphere, Unfamiliar Object challenges your attention to detail and ability to adapt as the environment becomes increasingly hostile. The experience focuses on subtle, creepy tension rather than outright scares, offering a unique take on survival horror through the lens of an investigative task.

How to Play

Inspect the office corridor and find the object that does not belong. Click to enter mouse look, use WASD or the Arrow Keys to move, and move the mouse to look around. Press Space to raise or lower the inspection camera. While the camera is raised, aim at the outlined object and left-click to take a photo. Bring the evidence to the correct highlighted fax machine and left-click to submit it before time runs out. Do not report the wrong object, do not re-enter a photographed room, and follow the changing rules to survive all shifts.
