About LifeCode

In LifeCode, players step into the role of a unique creature trapped inside a deserted laboratory plagued by hostile monsters. The core challenge is survival and exploration within this eerie environment, as you work to assist A.R.C.H., an advanced artificial intelligence that has lost access to critical data due to sabotage. Your task is to navigate through procedurally generated lab layouts, collecting memory data to help A.R.C.H. recover its lost information and carry out an unspecified but vital mission.

The gameplay revolves around finding Memory Export Nodes (M3Ns) and managing resources such as food, medical supplies, and flashlights while avoiding predatory creatures that see you as their prey. Exploration rewards careful movement and strategic planning since staying too long leads to increased danger, especially after dark when monster encounters become more frequent. Time management is crucial; the game features a clock system that pressures players to complete objectives and return to a safe base before midnight to avoid fatal consequences.

Players can interact with vending machines dispersed throughout the laboratory, which offer items purchasable using a unique currency called N-Neutrons, earned through successful memory exports and activating various Control Core functions. Each day starts with adjusting an antenna to optimize memory collection, adding an extra layer of strategy. With its blend of survival horror and suspenseful exploration, LifeCode offers a tense and unpredictable experience in a disturbing sci-fi setting, challenging players to outwit both environment and enemies while piece by piece unraveling the secrets behind the abandoned facility.

How to Play

HOW TO PLAY

Each day begins at 10:00 AM at your base.
Your first task is to adjust the antenna angle. The more accurate the alignment, the more memory you will receive during the export process.
After that, enter the laboratory and locate an M3N (Memory Export Node). Activate the first export phase. A single M3N operates for 2 to 5 minutes depending on conditions.
While the M3N is running, explore the laboratory, gather resources, and avoid hostile monsters.
Once the memory bar is filled, return to the base and activate a Control Core function. Afterward, you will need to fill the memory bar again, this time to a higher requirement.
When the M3N finishes operating, you can activate Phase Two. This phase provides additional memory and helps complete your objectives more quickly.
However, always keep an eye on the clock.
You must leave the laboratory before midnight. If you remain inside after 12:00 AM, your character will die and all collected items and stored memory will be lost.
If you forget to check the time, don't worry. At 11:00 PM, a warning siren will sound throughout the laboratory, alerting you that midnight is approaching. At the same time, emergency lights will illuminate the facility, helping you find the exit and return to base before it is too late.
